Family bonding

Family bonding could mean different activities to keep parents and children in harmony. These are ways to have the same vibes or mind wavelengths within a family. For my family, bonding is more often on doing things that we enjoy. We are a sports loving family and most of our activities are on table tennis, pool, basketball and bowling. Being in a 'not-so-well-to-do' financially situation, we try to bond in these ways at least three or four times a year. We have four children, 3 boys and a girl, all of them grown up. Our second boy though is a special child and he has been determined to be a semi-autistic/semi-retard. He is going 24 this year but he still looks like a 12 year old. In spite of that, he is able to keep up with family activities.

On some occasions, when we have some extra income, we go night outs too. Often pool billiards is on the agenda. Sometimes we go to decent music night spots for a couple drinks. All of us love music and there are even times we do sing-alongs with karaoke. Also, there are times that we all agree to watch CD that we all are interested in. We hardly go to the movies anymore. We're more free to do what we want to do watching movies on CD at home. It's nice to ask or talk about what's going on in a movie which we can't do in a moviehouse. Another is being able to playback when one needs to go to the john.

It is much joy to me when we can kid each other at home. Seeing all of us being able to help one another in some chores gives a feeling of being also around friends and not just family. The internet also helps in our bonding because we all enjoy being members of some social sites. It helps us understand what the other thinks about, that could not be expressed verbally. We learn and get to know more about each other. That's how we bond together.
